Do you know someone who is all about being green? I have a few friends who go above and beyond to be green and while I love them to pieces and I am glad that they were able to make the changes they have I’m tired of the judgments! Nope I am not classified as a “Green Mom” or “Green” at all. And today I am going to prove that although I am not as “Green” as some, I am being green with Green Works!
I like knowing that the little things that I do, do help the environment but I also like knowing that I don’t have to wash myself with a biodegradable wash cloth or only use herbs to brush my teeth that are going to be put into the compost to show people that I am “green”.
Check out this amazingly funny video that Green Works made to show that your not the only one who feels this way!
I am so happy that Green Works is launching the “You Don’t Have to be Ridiculous to be Green” campaign which makes going green accessible and practical for everyone especially with their Green Works products. Another awesome thing Green Works has done was gain information on why people feel the need to be green; some of it was/is shocking to me.
Ultimately, it is practicality that guides where women incorporate environmentally conscious actions into their lives. In fact, 59 percent say just that, “I introduce environmentally friendly practices only when it is practical given my lifestyle.”
“Women feel it’s trendy to be environmentally conscious. Fifty-one percent of respondents said “green is the new black.”
”We believe women are feeling this pressure because somewhere along the line green became a status symbol – now everyone has an opinion about how you aren’t doing enough to be eco-friendly.” said Shekinah Eliassen, Green Works brand manager. “With all of the different challenges surrounding green, we believe it’s time to make eco-friendly people friendly again.”
I would have to agree with the first one more at least for my family. We live in a small area that doesn’t have recycling. Yep, no blue cans to put out on pick up day. Ultimately we have to go online and find out where the mobile unit will that day and take our recycling there, which is fine especially if I am already going by there.
