Being Crafty
Last week I started a new job. So now I'm not only going to school full-time, working part-time, blogging full-time and a single mom but I've got another part-time job! Crazy? Maybe! In all of this craziness, I made some time for being crafty!
Chucky takes a bottled water to school everyday and I was flabbergasted by how much money I spend on bottled water every two weeks. So I went on a hunt for something that would not only make it easier on my pocket book but also on Chucky to fill everyday.
I had a few requirements for his water bottle, it had to be reusable, had to keep his water cold throughout the day, has to be easy to clean and use; be fairly inexpensive. I looked online first but was shocked at some of the prices that they wanted for a water bottle and they were ugly too!
I headed to Walmart in search of one of those Brita water bottles, so he could fill it with “water from the drinking fountain at the mall” if he wanted but they didn't have an option of keeping your water cold throughout the day.
I almost gave up until I saw one that had a filter and a freezer stick for under $7! It's large enough and yet still small enough to fit in his backpack! And the replacement filters were only $6 so I knew I found us a winner!
The problem? We live in a small town so I'm sure every other kid in his school has the exact same water bottle. What to do? Monogram it!
I pulled out my Silhouette Cameo and got busy finding a font that we could agree on to personalize his water bottle! I used some shiny navy blue vinyl, that I thought popped against the colors of the bottles lid and spout. He loves it and he was so proud of me for making it for him.
While I was being crafty (had the Silhouette Cameo out) I decided to monogram some adorable leopard pocket mirrors that I found. I am in love with these and I only wish I would have bought all of the mirrors they had so I could make some more!
Because I can't spoil it for her you'll have to wait until my swap partner receives her package before I can show you all the goodies I made for Alice. She lives in Europe so we will have to be patient! While we're waiting, go check out her blog, you won't be sorry!
Have you been being crafty? What have you made lately?

Reusable water bottles are the best!
Love the pocket mirrors!
And I can’t wait to see what you’ve put together for me. Oh, has my gift arrived yet? I hope it didn’t get lost, I sent it in an envelope.
